Hi, how’re you doing? What day is it today? What is the date today? How long have you been in the U.S.A.? Do you speak English well? I know some writing and reading, but speaking is not as easy. I can write and read, but I have trouble with spoken English. Is there a way to make speaking easier? Is there a way to learn faster and easier? Please let me know.
The general mood of Korea is that if we do not speak English well, we feel we are totally left out, We are affected by English fever, but as a matter of fact   there is no use for English in reality, except for people who really need it for their jobs and careers.

(Immerse yourself in English)

What day is it today?
What is the date today?

These questions are asking what the current date is.  The question “what day is it today?” is asking if it’s Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  The question “what is the date today?” is asking what day of the month it is.

The general mood of Korea is; if we don’t speak English well, we feel we are totally left out.
This is implying that the people in Korea are very influenced by the English language.  Many people in Korea are having tutors and classes to help educate them and learn to speak the English language more fluently.  It also states that people in Korea feel left out and out of the loop if they are not able to speak English fluently.

We are affected by English fever, but as a matter of fact there is no use for English in reality, except for people who really need it for their jobs and careers. Perhaps it is needed for international business.
This is implying that the people in Korea are addicted and can’t shake off the need to learn English.  This statement is implying that people in Korea don’t really need to learn the English language unless they are using it for their careers or international business.  But because they are all addicted to learning, it is implying that Koreans will strive to learn the English language until they perfect it.
